Paige's Summer Projects

Okay, this is me trying to pump some life into my blog once again. Once the summer is over, it'll probably deflate back to it's usual sorry state. Just warning you.

For the summer, I have a list of projects I want to complete, and most are writing-related. Imagine that, huh? I've made some progress towards them this week even. Here's a complete list of my projects, and hopefully it'll inspire some other people to create their own lists...Or you can sit around and be couch potatoes. Whatever works for you. :-)

1. I plan to read George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. I read the first two books in my Harry Potter and Game of Thrones class (Best. Class. Ever.), and really enjoyed it. My friend and I love having philosophical discussions about the series. I also plan to read "The Confessions of St. Augustine".

2. Finish "The Garden of Sunflowers". I started school with only four chapters left to write and they never got written. They will be written this summer!

3. Write a theology paper. Now, now, now. I know it's odd that an Atheist is writing about the existence of God, but for some reason, I enjoy thinking about religion. I came up with this idea when writing my term paper about Dumbledore and the greater good, strangely.

4. Swim two hours a day in the ocean or the pool. I just came back from my first official "open-water" swim. I really enjoyed it and the clumps of seaweed surprisingly did not play as many tricks on my imagination as I thought they would. Maybe I was swimming too hard to even create imaginary whales and sharks and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

5. Draft a rudimentary outline of my Honors Capstone. I have this idea for a novel I want to write (and it's not YA or MG) and hopefully it'll be the next great American novel...Or at least good enough for me to graduate with Honors. :-D

I also plan to do some songwriting and poetry on the side, but that won't take priority.

Phew! I just gave myself a full-time job!
